The Excel Advantage: Excel Benefits
Quality
- Demanding standards on raw materials - for example, wood is delivered to exacting specifications on moisture content, or it's sent back. That's the best way to prevent warping and buckling after the house is built.
- Built strong to last long. Excel homes are "over-built" to withstand the rigors of transportation. This gives you a level of strength and integrity much higher than "traditional" construction.
- Built square and true. Components are assembled in pre-measured jigs by experienced craftsmen using the best tools. When it's built right the first time, it stays right for a lifetime.
Time
- Time is money. After your home is built and assembled (or "set") on your foundation, it can be finished in as little as 4 - 8 weeks. When you are dealing with a Construction Loan, your interest payments stay low.
Choice
- We build the house you want - no "cookie-cutters".
- We give you the brand names you trust.
- We give you the options & upgrades that are the most popular today.
When you build your house with Excel Homes, you are joining thousands of satisfied home buyers. In a recent survey, 97% of Excel home buyers said they would buy another Excel home or recommend an Excel home to their friends.
The Excel Advantage: Customizing your home
You have several choices in how you decide to customize your home. They all involve the same process.
First, you and your Excel Builder will discuss the type of home you want to build. Consider the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Decide how much room you need in your kitchen, family room, and other key living areas of the house. Consider the interior traffic flow. Decide on the type of home layout you prefer: ranch, cape, two story, contemporary, or a blend of styles.
Next, go through our line of standard plans. With your builder, mark up changes to the plan to meet the needs you decided on above. Your builder will send it to Excel for redrawing. Take another look at the plan; make more changes, if needed; and your builder will send it back to us again. Pretty quickly you will have the layout of your dream home complete.
If none of our standard plans is close to what you want, that's okay. With your builder, sketch out your thoughts. Just like before, your builder will send the sketch to us. We will review it and draw it for you. If we need to make changes to meet building codes or structural requirements, you will see them on the drawing. Again, make any other changes from here, and we will go through the cycle again.
Your builder now has enough information to give you a preliminary price.
Now it's time to start specifying upgrades. Your builder has samples and catalogs of the many, many options and upgrades we offer. While it is impossible to be everything to everybody, we believe we have chosen a range of options to meet most needs.
If you come across an item you just have to have, and we don't offer it, ask your builder. It may be possible to have that option installed locally. That's just one more advantage of the working relationship we have set up between Excel, your builder, and you.
